Peter Drucker, undoubtedly one of the world’s most influential management consultants, would have been 100 years old next month. Drucker died 5 years ago but his advise is much needed today.
Drucker’s body of work spans 39 books and as such is impossible to capture in a short blog but at it’s core his message was that successful leaders must facilitate the work environment that allows their people to do their best.
On first glance you might think that Drucker’s message is unimaginative and fully present in today’s business world, but in truth it is neither. It is the rare business leader (e.g. Tony Hsieh at Zappos) that actually deliver’s on the essence of Drucker. Far too many managers and executives still think their business is about them.
What would Drucker do?
He would encourage us all to focus on our people knowing that they will then serve the business and our customers in extraordinary ways.
